However as all the costs of having your perfect day seem to mount up, do consider
your wedding photographs as an investment rather than an expense. When budgeting take time together to think about what you spend the most on and how it reflects what is most important to you about your day and also about how you will remember your day in the years to come.
You will be looking at these images and sharing them with others for a lifetime and more.
To get the best shots don't underestimate the importance of liking and feeling relaxed
with your chosen photographer as this will show in your final images and your guests
will appreciate it too!
To keep it simple and as no fuss as possible I offer five straightforward "packages" Please see below. However I am always open to look at individual requirements and a bespoke price may be agreed.
Due to the nature of smaller local weddings (which take considerably less time both on the day and in post-production) they may be covered for less.
I am also happy for couples to direct guests here as an alternative to their wedding gift registry. I am happy to sell gift vouchers in multiples of £30 for guests to purchase and couples to then use towards the cost of their wedding photography.
Packages tend to be the usual and sometimes the best way to price full wedding coverage and provide a really good professional end product.
The digital age and what people expect and want has changed perceptions so rapidly that everybody has so many different expectations and often all the albums and presentations you view are still not quite what you want and instead you want more control and want the pricing to be more broken down and transparent.
Therefore I am offering a price for my time and skills to cover your event, this is £125 per hour on the day of your event/wedding with an £80 per hour price for the post-production side to produce the final images and after that we then discuss how many images you want whether in digital form as HIRES images on a disk or in print form or perhaps in an album and a price for this end product. This is similar to the HIRES package but slightly different and will be clearer to explain when we meet.
Weddings and civil partnerships come in all shapes and sizes. Smaller weddings where there are less than 25 guests are just as special and important as bigger weddings. I think everyone is entitled to have the best pictures taken of their special day. It may be that you are having an intimate family only occasion, or perhaps a small party for friends and family, maybe even sometime after you have officially tied the knot.
For this type of day I am able to offer a bespoke price tailored to your requirements. Bigger weddings often require 6-8 hours of my time on the day and many more hours afterwards, smaller weddings perhaps 2-4 hours on the day and equally less time afterwards.
If you feel that you are looking for this then please contact me and we can discuss taking great photos of your day at an agreed price to suit you. This is more likely to be available mid-week Monday-Thursday and take place no further than 25 miles outside Glasgow.
Prices would start at approximately £650.
£990 no frills price
While I find the majority of couples on seeing my albums do tend to fall in love with them, I also believe that quality presentation is a key element for the long-term appreciation of your wedding images. However I like you to have the choice and so keep your costs down if you are on
a tighter budget. Equally hard selling even the nicest albums is not my thing.
If simple quality images and prints are what you desire and presenting them is an afterthought or something you wish to perhaps budget for at another less expensive time, then this is the option for you.
There are a range of options to choose from for this price:
A wedding box with 120 images.
60 prints in a mix of sizes (5x7 and 8x6 are the usual sizes chosen.)
This price includes all preview images viewable on a CD.
I have had couples come back after a time wishing to upgrade to one of the albums and that's fine too.
I would attend and shoot for about 5 hours on the day.
Don't forget to direct guests here where they can buy gift vouchers towards your photography so if you have fallen in love with a larger album then they can help towards the cost.
You can't get fairer than that?
£1290 for shooting your day with your choice of approximately 45 images presented in a stylish Madison 10x10 album.
True reportage is where a photographer would shoot your day entirely without directing any moments or setting up group shots at all.
I am quite happy if this is the approach you want, but in general most families and couples do want to have some groups or couple shots slightly "set up" but taken without fuss and in a relaxed natural way.
Basically a good photographer uses a mixture of styles to catch the essence of your day and seamlessly switches from one to another without you or your guests realising.
My greatest compliment is that so often guests have asked am I a friend of the bride or groom? They know I am the official photographer but assume that I am also a guest of the couple's due to the relaxed rapport that we have on the day.
I consider it a real privilege to be the person capturing their day and knowing that all around me the guests and their families are completely at ease with me also.
I would attend for about 6 hours for this package.
£1950 for shooting your day and your choice of approximately 75 images presented in a stunning 12x12 Jorgensen Art album, both in colour and black and white.
The price includes all your preview images viewable on a CD and online upload of your images for all your friends and family to view at their leisure.
Images are captured in my "reportage" unobtrusive style. This album is really the story of the day from beginning to end.
I can shoot right up to the meal or I can stay right up to the dancing, the choice is yours.
My attendance is usually about 8 hours.
Larger Jorgensen pro-bound albums and Digital "coffee table" style wedding books are available also. Priced from £2250 upwards.
£2150 for the Elegance album which is a superb and unique "coffee table" style digital wedding book. Approx 80 images and text (if desired) are layed out beautifully within this panoramic contemporaray and quite simply stunning book.
Couples find it very hard to choose between this or a Jorgensen album, it is very much a personal preference and I am glad I don't have to choose!
Couples nowadays are very visually aware and educated and I am increasingly asked about the availibility of hi-res images on a disk so that you can obtain your own prints or presentations.
This I am happy to discuss when we meet and talk more in depth about your photography.
At the end of the day the "packages" are guidelines and it is about what you want in the end that I aim to provide. To cover a day fully and provide a full disk of HIRES images would be priced at approx. £1550 without an album.
For £150 I will come to your house or a chosen venue, if it's at all possible it's great to get outside.
For that "sitting" fee I will take as many shots as I think is necessary to capture the images you're looking for.
I won't limit either the time I spend or the amount of film I use, as you just never know when "that magic shot" will come.
The actual photography shouldn't take any more than an hour to an hour and a half, as kids get fed up quickly. But I do spend some time getting to know the "photographees" first, so that everyone relaxes and feels comfortable.
This ensures that the whole experience is enjoyable, HONEST!
Most importantly I will capture the images using available light. If it's a studio look you want then please go to a studio, if it's catching a natural moment that doesn't look set up then I'm who you want!
A great idea is for me to come along to a child's birthday party or a planned day out to some family friendly place, what better time and place to naturally get the best of you and your family? You'll barely notice me as you and your family simply relax and enjoy the occasion.
The price includes a preview CD of all images (approx 50-60) and your choice of 2 8x6 prints in mounts.
After that reprints can be ordered in a range of sizes. I can offer many different contemporary presentations from canvas wraps to acrylics, frames and albums.
